Since the beginning, the evil Dr. Jebediah Hyde has ruled Nightfall, incessantly torturing the inmates of the Goulliard Asylum for the Perpetually Insane through what he refers to as modern techniques of Metabolic Reassembly, Hypnotic Aids in Surgery and Psycho Physical Therapy.
Last year, his work took a different turn. Dr. Hyde discovered a rare strain of DNA that enabled him to somewhat successfully combine the DNA of two or more species in living hosts through bone marrow and spinal fluid transfusions. A synoptically charged extreme electroshock is used to begin the transformation, or in most cases, the mutation process. The good doctor began cross-mutating humans with just about every living creature in the surrounding desert, populating the township of Nightfall with a diverse assortment of hideous beasts and monsters.
In the end, Hyde the captor became Hyde the captive when he was overthrown by his "creatures" and Isabel, a lab assistant whom he had abducted and forced to help him perfect his techniques. The unforeseen shift of power to the heretofore unknown Isabel brought a new reality and threat to Nightfall. Has Isabel perfected the mutation process without Hyde's help? Will Hyde yet overcome this challenge to his dominion?
